Udi, obtained from Dhuni is highly sacred and it has unparalleled miracle powers. It is considered to heal both mental and physical disorders of the body.

Dhuni pooja is equivalent to performing navagraha homum.

At Tenkasi Shirdi Vaidya Sai temple's Brindavan, there is a place to lit sacred lamps for Baba.  After worshiping Baba, light the lamp. On the way to Dwarakamayee (where Dhuni is located), worship lord Sri Thathathreya and lord Sri Abhaya Anjaneya. In Dwarakamayee, go around dhuni, worship navagraha and baba, and then place navadhanyam (Vedic Nine Grains), full coconut with husk, benzoin (sambirani), ghee, and samittu (wood used for homum) in Dhuni.

A Dhuni Pooja Packet containing all items required for the Dhuni pooja is available for ₹60/- (Sixty Indian Rupees) in Sayee Angaadi, a shop in Tenkasi Shirdi Vaidya Sai Temple.
